Motorsports Overview:
 
It has been a busy 2009 racing season so far for OMP America attending the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and various testing programs on several fronts. Our Grand Am teams couldn’t stop talking about the new Superleggera firesuit and how much they appreciated such a product for an event as grueling as the 24 hours. The OMP successes didn’t end there; the design and technology of our new HTG gloves and Daytona shoe impressed everyone but more importantly, every driver loved the feel and grip of our new  products.
 
OMP America has officially entered the NASCAR world by affiliating themselves with Will Kimmel Racing in the ARCA Series and with Trail Motorsports in the Nationwide and Camping World Series. OMP’s feather light suit, HTG gloves and the Daytona shoes made quite an impression on the NASCAR grids with competitors constantly inquiring about the new OMP products.

HTG GLOVES- IB745

The HTG glove has been worn and tested by Gil De Ferran, Ed Carpenter and Darin Lowe, Grand Am 24 Hour Race winner.  The glove features fabric made of stretchy fire resistant material with Nomex palm inserts that have been treated with an ultra-thin mixture with a flame retardant treatment. The maximum grip is obtainable after just a few minutes due to body heat.

The suit features USA and ITALY inspired design, but can bedefender customized to represent any country of choice. Vitor Meira on OMP ONE:
The new OMP ONE line has arrived to the US and is now in stock and Vitor Meira is one of our first OMP drivers to sport the new line. Vitor had the opportunity to wear the OMP ONE suit and gloves during the IndyCar series testing that took place in Homestead, FL. After the test we asked Vitor a few questions about his thoughts on the new line and below is what he had to say.
 
Q. What do you like most about the design of the OMP ONE suit?
A. The design is cool and comfortable! But the best thing about it is the fact that OMP is always willing and ready to make changes to what I need.
 
Q. How do you feel the suit’s lightness helps while on the track?
A. I sweat a lot, and I was surprised how light this 3-layer suit was. The suit keeps me cool and also dries faster then other suits I’ve worn!
 
Q. Do you like the new palm technology used for the OMP ONE gloves?
A. In the past I’ve always used gloves with full leather palm, but the grip of the ONE gloves are awesome! So I changed over from leather palm gloves to the ONE glove.
 
Q. Do you feel it provides the right grip needed?
A. Yes. I feel it helps me because I don’t need to squeeze the steering as much to get more of a better grip.
 
Q. As you know OMP is known for their classic style combined with great technology. With the new OMP ONE line they are now able to combine stylish suits without sacrificing their technology. Are you happy that OMP is now designing suits geared towards the younger driver and is not sacrificing the technology that OMP puts into their products?
A. Technology has always been a priority to me, and if you can combine it together with style I feel you will have a great product. People like racing not only because of speed and technology, but they like it because it is also hi-end. To have a hi-end product you have to have many aspects, one of which is style. OMP has the most hi-end racing products I have ever worn!
