THE 2008 SEASON IS PICKING UP THE PACE.

Marco Andretti finished second at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the IRL season opening race after a terrific performance in which the driver also lead 85 laps.  An unfortunate mechanical failure took Marco out early on in St. Petersburg, but it was Will Power who captured the attention with a well-deserved front row start and a brilliant first half of the race. Brazilian standout Ana Beatriz took a third place finish in race one of the Indy Lights series and was leading race two with four laps to go before teammate Antinucci took her our. Early in the season drivers Helio Castroneves and Ryan Briscoe, racing for Penske/Taylor Grand-Am effort, took home a third place finish in the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona.

Tip of the Month:

HOW TO PROPERLY CLEAN & MAINTAIN YOUR SUIT

1. Dry clean & your suit and make sure your cleaner does not use flammable chemicals.
2. Dry clean is highly recommended especially for dark colored articles.
3. When washing, do not wash the articles inside out to avoid scraping away the internal fabric.
4. Be sure to tighten the Velcro straps around the collar and on the belt to avoid the overall being abraded by them.
5. Remember that Nomex is light sensitive therefore do not expose items to direct light or sunrays.
6. For a complete guide always refer to the Users’ Handbook.

Curiosity of the Month:

A DREAM DRIVE, ACTUALLY FIVE...

When OMP was offered to become partner of World Class Driving I did my research on the program and I was captured right away.  The idea is simple and that’s why it’s phenomenal; if you have a chance I recommend participating.
WCD has a fleet of five super cars worth over a million-five and they let you drive them one by one.  In sequence I drove the Ferrari F430, the 911 Turbo Cabriolet, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, the Mercedez-Benz SLR McLaren and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera; all together I had to handle 2,730-horse power.
The day started in a luxury hotel in Daytona Beach where Jean Paul Libert, the mastermind behind WCD, and Didier Theys gave us a briefing on how to ‘behave’ and ‘treat’ the cars.  their job is to scare you a little so you don’t perform brainless moves while on the road because the beauty of this program is that you get to drive in beautiful settings.
Yes you can’t push hard, but let’s be honest who can really handle all those horsepower?  The fun is not just driving, but also commenting and exchanging comments between drives.  The most common dialogue was the comparison between cars and everyone had its own favorites.  It was not easy to choose, but I ended up giving my vote to the Gallardo and to the 599 Fiorano.
If you ever try the program let me know what your favorites cars will be, and if you do I might see you out there because I would like to go back and test drive the Audi R8 and the Callaway C16 WCD new entries!
